John Spencer: 1946-2005

West Wing actor John Spencer died yesterday aged 58 after suffering a heart attack.

He played Chief of Staff Leo McGarry in The West Wing, one of my favourite characters in the show. Apparently he had appeared in 7 of the first 14 episodes of Season 7 before he died. The show is in hiatus in the States at the moment, and there has obviously been no word yet as to what NBC will do with his character.

Yet again, another talented entertainer has been taken from us. Next time, $deity, please take Justin Timberlake instead. Gutted.
