hmmm, ITV Digital (née ONdigital), the digital terrestrial pay-TV operator here in the UK, have announced that they are shutting down operations as of 6am GMT (7am BST) May 1st — today! It’s a shame, as the service had a lot of promise, but they succumbed to the pressure of trying to compete with BSkyB and spending too much money on football rights.

So we’re left with this brief statement from the ITV Digital administrators, plus a more more comprehensive statement to the press. Ho hum, at least I get 14 quid a month back in my pocket!
