richard wanted a diary/blog page set up after seeing some friends doing the same – and he wanted it local, so I thought “hmmm, how many times have I heard the evolters going on about how cool Movable Type is … ” – it’s free for non-commercial and personal use. So it was duly downloaded and installed on Richard’s server while he was off gallivanting up the M3 in the rain. The install was literally about 20 minutes or so, and that was me coming to it cold, and having to piss about with CPAN to catch a couple of missing perl modules …

I came back from dinner with my parents to see this in my irc window …

and richard was off blogging away, so I was happy it worked and was liked ;) … i don’t know if i’m quite ready to give up blogger just yet, given that i shelled out cash for the pro blogger variant, and i quite like the blogger interface compared to the mt one … but at least i know i’ve made a protobloggist happy tonight!
