am spending a fraught night in with my ailing ppro file server, a dodgy fujitsu boot disk, a hopefully healthy seagate replacement, a debian rescue floppy and judicious use of ghost, fdisk and chroot. I’d much rather be out having a beer, but unfortunately this will have to suffice.

replacement machine — pentium /// 600 with 256 meg ram &8212; is en route from a fellow ebayer at a mucho cheap price, but I need to get this boot disk onto another disk to keep things within a modicum of reliability.

oh and sudden realisation that The West Wing is on, I’m not watching it (thank god for TiVo), but at the same time I’m missing Dude, Where’s My Car on Sky Movies Max (i swear, i don’t make the names of these channels up) and it won’t be on again until next friday. hence the irc discussion posted earlier today :)
