Air France and BA are going to simultaneously withdraw their Concorde fleets, probably in October after the summer season. The planes will go through a set of special events and then go off to museums. Definitely the end of an era of flight, and what a shame that it will probably happen just a couple of months before the 100th anniversary [more links] of the Wright Brothers first flight will take place. I suspect that the airframes will retain their airworthiness certificates, so it would be nice to see at least one Speedbird take part in the celebrations …
