Light 'Em If You've Got Em

Fellow Scottish person Meg Pickard moved recently, and made this IKEA observation …

drove to good old IKEA to pick up a few selected bits and bobs – a TV bench, couple of stools, desk lamp, and the usual extraneous guff. No tealights though, which is a first – as I’m sure I’ve mentioned here before, if you fail to make the obligatory purchase of 500 tealights – “I know we don’t need them, but they’re so cheap!” – corporate customer care assistants in jaunty yellow t-shirts stalk you back to your car and slash your tyres.

It’s funny because it’s true. I must have more tealights than I know what to do with, but I know the next time I either visit IKEA at Braehead or Straiton, I’ll buy more tealights. It’s not like I don’t burn them, I do (see photo for proof), but they’re like these magic obsessive wee objects that you simply can’t help buying. Again. And again. And again.

I think Meg has awakened something primordial in me, I just hope it’s not a candle fetish, that would be bad! :)
