Richard Bloody Scarry! I loved his books! Little worms, owls, cats driving, working, living lives — and always with wee adventures to be engrossed in or providing puzzles to do! The book cover I’ve reproduced here — “Best Rainy Day Book Ever” — was one of the Scarry books I owned as a toddler, and I adored it.

Someone did a Matrix Reloaded parody in the style of Dr. Seuss, and I only discovered it today. Strange how stuff from childhood reappears in adulthood.

I must now trawl ebay for anything Scarry related!
