woo, what a day ...

woo, what a day … went off with my dad and our mate Jim to the 2002 Festival of Flight at the Scottish National Aviation Museum at East Fortune in Lothian, not far from Edinburgh. We were all camera’d up, but my usually reasonable Kodak nonsense 1 megapixel plastic brick didn’t really come up with the goods on a day where the sun was shining almost constantly. My dad only brought his new Kodak FinePix thing – bizarre since he usually goes to air shows tooled up to the gunnels with SLR bodies, lenses, films, batteries, camcorder, tapes, tripod, monopod, and so on. Jim, however, did what my dad usually does, and was having great fun constantly switching lenses (varying from a 200mm zoom to a with-doubler 1000mm fixed lens) depending on what the situation called for.

Bit disappointed, as the stall which does a lot of radio gear, cool patches and the like (Stewart Aviation, btw) didn’t turn up, neither did the burger van that usually does bambi burgers (what we like to call venison steak burgers) … but as I said, the sun was shining all day long – my aloe vera’d sunburn patches will attest to that! The weather was absolutely glorious, and bodes well for my nana’s balloon flight tomorrow (well, today now).

Anyway, my pics from today are up in the photo album, and I’ll hopefully have some more pics tomorrow of the balloon trip (disclaimer: balloon seen in east fortune pics are wholly unrelated to forthcoming balloon trip).
