Sabrina took Ellie up this random tower/chimney thing beside the hotel, which equally randomly had a Santa at the top. This meant the rest of us could sit back with some drinkies without a small girl running around us and asking for beer :)

Before heading off, we nipped into a next-door Spar, grabbed some munchies, and then the next thing I knew, we were heading down the N7 towards Kilkenny at the mind-bending speed of … 20mph. Yes, we were stupid enough to set off at quarter to five on a Friday afternoon – were we mad? Probably! Sabrina had guesstimated the 101km journey time at three hours, I had it worked out at somewhere between one and one and a half hours. In actuality, with my not knowing the route, it being dark, it being busy up to the N7/M7 merge, and us getting lost in Kilkenny City meant it ended up being two and a half hours. Which I’m quite chuffed with :)
