It’s a shame, as the service had a lot of promise, but they succumbed to the pressure of trying to compete with BSkyB…

60 gig is here 🙂 … plus an 8-port 10/100 switch which was going mucho cheap (< £40 inc VAT!) so my network is flying (it was all 10 meg previously) and hopefully i'll get some space back once this drive goes live (hehe).

hmmm the 30 gig drive that died … it didn’t have mp3s on it – the other one (that’s still alive) had all the mp3s on it! Hurrah! So I’ve been listening to more music again, and I’ve managed to get some more rips done too (namely SW Ep I Ultimate Edition OST and Slipknot…

well the 30 gig drive with all my mp3s (about 23 gig worth) has died a death – it simply doesn’t power up any more – the bulk of it was either rips or audiogalaxy downloads. so i’ll need to replace that kinda soonish – there’s some good deals on 40 gig IBM deskstar 60gxp…

server crash well that wasn’t fun … something bad happened on the first ide channel of my main file server, intrepid, and when i finally managed to boot it off a rescue floppy, i found a bad state of affairs … on the two disks on that channel, i have /, /home, /usr and /var…
