I Be Old

30 years ago pretty much to the minute, I appeared in this world, surrounded by an unconscious mother and hospital porters betting on that day’s Grand National. And I still be here, being old and grumpy. Although the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Where’s me pipe? Bastards.

Saturday Past, Drinking Liquids, All In and Out

sat 1445 GMT home -> car to mcphabbs (loads of guinness and munchies) -> air organic (loads of lager, spirits and a nice boak in the loo) -> $randompub (water and crisps) -> solid rock (guinness and crisps) -> kebab shop (keeebab!) -> firebird (guinness and chips) -> crash at a flat -> sun 1215 […]

Calling Occupants of Entertained-ful Craft

US budget airline JetBlue have satellite TV built into the aircraft. Each passenger can watch live TV as broadcast on the DIRECTV platform (similar to Sky here in the UK), which is pretty damn cool. Something similar could surely be done with Sky on UK domestic flights, which would make up for the utter lack […]

DNA IIfx

Someone managed to buy an old Mac that belonged to Douglas Adams from eBay — I wonder how the chuff it got from DNA’s home into the hands of a computer scrapper? Tip o’ the hat to 2lmc spool, who got it from linkmachinego.

More BBC Tomfoolery

Who Knew Celebrities Swearing Would Be So Cool?

Channel Four have slipped out a Flash movie advert which … well, it’s basically people who are on, or have been on programmes on Channel Four, such as The West Wing, ER, Big Brother, yadda yadda … and they’re swearing. A lot. I’ve no idea where it came from, but it’s certainly starting to gather […]

Geek Shopping

Am I allowed to get pissed off because the guy at Asda wasn’t packing my stuff into bags optimally? I twice ended up putting one bag into another. It’s alright for the mums and dads who have umpteen kids traipsing behind them and they can be used as slave labour at the other end when […]

30th on the 30th (almost)

It’s all been and gone … Update: 2004-03-28 15:34 BST If you wanted to come along, you’ve missed out — photies and stuff soon. What? I’m 30 years old on the 30th of March, 2004. I’ve decided that much drinking is in order, and that in the interests of fairness, that the drinking shouldn’t occur […]

Microsoft Swastika Overdrive

Microsoft have released (admittedly a fortnight ago) an update to Bookshelf Symbol 7, a font included in Office 2003, for including two instances of the swastika. It’s labeled Q833407, after the MS Knowledge Base article giving (virtually no) extra information on the update, it’s marked “critical”—the same level of urgency imparted upon recent Windows security […]
